Trip to Lancaster

Hi! On Monday morning we traveled with the rush-hour commuters into Lancaster to go to the library book sale there. It was being held at Franklin and Marshall, and it was HUGE. Much bigger than Middletown Public Library's. We found some great books for Annie (there were so many to choose from!), and Brant found some nice hardcover copies of books he's really been wanting to read. Annie slept in her jogging stroller for most of the perusing, but she woke up at the end as we were sorting . . .

Then we drove over to Long's Park, which is a great place! We'd never been there before. Annie was pretty tuckered out, and Brant and I were both starving and wanting to get back to Middletown. But we used it as a diaper-change-and-quick-breakfast area for Annie. Of course we took a turn on the swings, too.

You can see her tooth in this picture if you look closely! (Bottom center)

She was all tuckered out and cuddly on Brant's shoulder, but then she noticed that I was taking pictures of her . . .

and she got really smiley and giggly!

What a fun day!

9 Months Old!

Well, we just got back from the doctor's, and Annie is sleeping off her shot pain upstairs in her crib. She's a healthy, petite princess!

weight: 16 lbs. 8 oz. (10th percentile)
height: 27 in

The next time we go in she'll be one year old!! I can't believe it. The last few days Annie's been feeling a little under the weather with another tooth coming in on top. It's been kind of sad. :-( But we sort of got through the worst part on Monday, and today she's back to her usual self. I woke up to the sounds of her singing (wow, she reaches some high notes!) and "ba-ba"-ing in her crib. I also heard her mobile playing, which always means that she's standing up and pulling on it to make the song play. It's a wonderful way to wake up, especially when I remember the many mornings and middle-of-the-nights when I'd wake up to her newborn screams. :) Now she just stands there and sings and talks to herself. It's really cute.

So the doctor said she'll probably remain in the low weight range for a while, since she's such an active kid. And because she's still breastfeeding. But it's not a cause for concern.

We've been having some great thunderstorms here lately! We woke around 2:30 last night to HUGE thunderclaps and lightning that really felt like it was in our bedroom. I LOVE thunderstorms!

Well, I'm off to take Memphis to the park!
